DOG DAYS ON GREENWAYS — Part Two

After a long weekend in sweet home Chicago, it was good to get back to our adopted home here in Winston-Salem. I was eager to get back on a greenway, but the plumber kept us at home until noon. By then, my husband, Eddie, our designated companion, had decided to mow the yard. Still, the beautiful and relatively cool day was too much to resist, so we set out, ignoring all that I had planned during our last walk. We were on our own again, not early, without extending leashes, and not carrying water. Surely there will be a tap somewhere along the way, I thought. Continue reading

DOG DAYS ON GREENWAYS — Part One

The idea of walking all of Winston-Salem’s greenways with my rescue dogs Sam and Jake seems like a great summer project. I can be outside with my furry buddies, working on making them into ever better doggie citizens, while I enjoy some exercise and explore trails I’ve never been on.
